Christmas is just around the corner and people want nothing more than to sit down together and watch some holiday classics that are guaranteed to keep everyone entertained.

• “Babes in Toyland” (1961): Mary Contrary is getting married to Tom Piper but on the eve of Mary’s wedding, Barnaby tries to stop the wedding by having his two henchmen kidnap Tom and steal Mary’s sheep. Instead the henchmen double cross Barneby by selling Tom to some gypsies. This gives Tom a chance to escape which ruins Barnaby’s plan to marry Mary.

• “Gremlins” (1984): Randall Peltzer finds a gift at a Chinatown antique store for his son Billy. Randall sees the creature called a mogwai and wants it for his son. The owner Mr. Wing won’t sell it but his grandson sells it to Randall in secret. There are three rules and bad things happen if they are broken.

• “Miracle on 34th Street” (1994): A department store needs a Santa Claus replacement and they hire a man named Kris Kringle. He does so well that children start to believe that he is the real Santa Claus. A little girl, Susan, doesn’t believe in Santa even with the efforts of her mother Dorey’s boyfriend Bryan Bedford. Susan has a wish and says she will believe if she gets it for Christmas. Kris Kringle is set up for assault and has to go to court, Bryan a lawyer and tries to prove that he is the real Santa Claus.

• “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000): Everyone in Whoville has a lot of Christmas joy and spirit except one, the Grinch who loathes Christmas and the Whos. While the Grinch is pulling a joke in the post office he saves Cindy Lou’s life. She becomes curious and finds out why he resents Christmas. He is nominated for the Whobilation but ends up remembering the past and ruins the party.

• “White Christmas” (1954): Two singers Bob Wallace and Phil Davis travel to Vermont with the sister act with Betty and Judy Haynes. They meet a commander from World War II who is having financial issues with his inn, so the foursome plan a fun musical to help the commander save his inn.

• “Elf” (2003): Buddy grew up in the North Pole so he was raised by the elves. Buddy feels that he doesn’t fit in so he goes in search of his real father while in his elf uniform. His real father is Walter Hobbs and is on the naughty list. After a DNA test then they start to form a relationship with chaotic results.

• “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946): It is Christmas Eve and George Bailey has run into some trouble with the Building and Loan. It is up to the angel Clarence to help Bailey realize that killing himself is not the answer. Clarence is shown Bailey’s life so that he can better understand why he wants to kill himself as well as get his wings.

• “A Christmas Carol” (2009): On Christmas Eve in the 19th-century, Ebenezer Scrooge, an old money-lender who doesn’t share the love of Christmas with everyone is sent on a life changing experience with the ghosts of the past, present and future. The ghosts show him how his life will be if he continues to be wicked to everybody.

• “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965): Charlie is in a bad mood about Christmas and he tells his friends Linus. His mood is dismissed by others and they continue to make fun of him. He goes and visits Lucy’s psychiatric booth. She recommends that he direct a Christmas play but it needs some Christmas spirit so Charlie goes to find the perfect tree.

“National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989): Clark Griswold is trying his best to have the perfect christmas with his wife and his children, but when his cousin Eddie shows up with his camper things start to go wrong. First the tree, then the house decorations.
