Girls’ soccer wins playoffs

Herriman girls soccer has just finished their best season since they started, according to Coach DeBruyn.

They have played some amazing games this season. They dominated a game against Jordan High School, with the score 5-0 within the first 25 minutes, and in doing so won their first playoff game.

“It was a close game, but the girls never gave up.” said Coach DeBruyn.

They also played against Riverton, winning 3-2, and Pleasant Grove, winning 2-0.

When Coach DeBruyn was asked what his favorite part about coaching the team was, he said “getting to know the girls and see them come together.”

The team has played many great games this past season, including their tribute game on 9/10 vs. Lone Peak.

The tribute game happens to be one of team captain, Kaylee Holt’s (‘17) favorite games.

During the game, they were down 3-1 in the second half. “…my teammates were getting down on themselves, and I knew I needed to build my team up and work harder.” said Holt.

She did just that. “With the help of my teammates,” she said, “we ended up winning that game 4-3 with seconds left on the clock.”

The team has great unity, even though they might not always be snagging yet another win.

Hanna Rose (‘18) also reported that her favorite game was also against Lone Peak, however a different match.

“We had fabulous chemistry, even though we couldn’t pull off a win.” reported Rose.

Every interviewed person reported that the team had fabulous chemistry. “Our team really bonded a lot. . . I’m really proud and thankful to all my team and coaches.” said Rose.

“We worked together and believed in each other to make it as far as we did.” said Holt.

Our Herriman girls soccer team played an absolutely amazing season, and have so many reasons to be proud of themselves.
