Did you know that the Herriman high has a competitive mountain biking team? The Herriman mustangs continue to grow and seize the day on the mountain.

The mountain biking team is one of the many teams our school has. But this particular team is unique to many there are very few high schools in Utah that have a mountain biking team. What the Herriman biking team does is they travel around places in Utah such as Vernal, Snowbasin, Powder mountain and on the 5th of this month they will be going to Richfield to compete against other schools in a race to earn medals and get faster times, they also have a state championship. 

It is organized based on what skill level you are at,  there are 11 different levels there’s Brown which is the highest then pink 1,pink2, green1, green2,aqua1,aqua2,orange1,orange2 and the two lowest is purple1 and 2 those are the categories they put you in to balance out the races for the other people. Then they set you off and go by the fastest time in your skill level.

Carter Carlson, one of the members on the mountain biking team says, “The best part of the team is when you get to race and if you do good enough you’ll earn medals at the end of it”. Then he said it is a fun team to be apart of to be able to travel around and see new places in Utah. He continued to go on about how fun being on the team is and said: “He loves to travel around”.
