Teacher Feature: Bailey Rosewood

Although this is Bailey Rosewood’s first year teaching American Sign Language, she began learning ASL her sophomore year.

Rosewood said, “I didn’t want to take Spanish and ASL seemed like the [better] option.”

When she graduated Riverton High School, she began attending Utah Valley University. Her original plan was to become an interpreter, but she “started taking the education classes and fell in love with teaching instead.”

Rosewood enjoys the opportunity to interact with the students in her classes. “I love watching the kids get it– when I can explain something and see them understand it.”

Her hobbies include playing tennis, snowboarding and dirt biking. She also enjoys reading the Mortal Instrument Books and listening to indie music.

So far she has enjoyed her first year of teaching. Rosewood said, “I think Herriman is the best high school ever, and I’ll tell anybody who will listen.”
