The LSU Tigers defeated the Clemson Tigers 42-25 Monday night at Mercedes Benz Superdome Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

Small-town Ohio kid, Joe Burrow capped off his virtuoso Heisman season by completing 31 of 49 passes for 463 yards, 6 total touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a National Championship for LSU. 

LSU Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron, called Joe, “One of the best players in LSU history” and said, “He’s done so much for the state of Louisiana and LSU. We are so grateful to Joe Burrow.”

This is LSU’s first National Title since 2007 when they beat top-ranked Ohio State in the National Championship winning 38-24. 

There we also some pretty big stars in attendance at this game. Not just our President Donald Trump and Kendrick Lamar were there. Quavo, Samuel L. Jackson, Ric Flair, and Zac Brown, who sang the national anthem with his band, were other stars in appearance. 

Notable athletes in attendance were Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, Matthew Stafford, Derrick Henry the star who helped the Titans defeat the Ravens this past weekend to put them in the AFC Championship. 

What’s next for both of these schools?

For LSU, they will be losing their star quarterback in Joe Burrow as he’s a senior and will be declaring for the NFL draft and likely being the number one overall pick in April. 

As for Clemson, they have some bigger hopes. Their star quarterback is going to be a Junior next year so they still have hope in him and Clemson as a whole has already been favored to win the College Football Playoff next year according to ESPN.
