All About Outdoors

The outdoors club and how it can get you moving.

Herriman has a lot of clubs, but have you heard of the Outdoors Club? Created last year, the Outdoors Club began to get kids and teachers alike outside and doing fun activities. From activities like repelling, exciting hikes, to even shooting the tube, there’s no such thing as “too crazy.” Free to join, the Outdoors Club has a Groupme where everyone involved discusses what activities they should do, and the students decide if they want to attend and it’s not mandatory to show up.

When asked about why it was created, Deegan Heath said, “I’ve always liked going outdoors but I didn’t want to go outside alone, so I created the club to get others involved.” Clubs like these are definitely on the rise. Other schools around are adding similar clubs, which allow kids who might be shy to meet new people, and for people who are bored and have nothing to do can decide whether or not they’ll go with the club.

The world is a big place, and there is so much to explore. A club like this was designed to target these adventurers and help people pursue what they find exciting. Any ideas the members have can be brought up in the Groupme for the club which helps get more people involved. Activities like hiking Donut falls on October 5th are being held and planned each week to keep those who are in the club interested.

If you like the outdoors then this club is perfect for you by state in the name. Take a deep breathe of fresh air go on a few hikes, go rock climbing, go swimming and just have a good time with the Outdoors Club!
