Relax, and recharge after first quarter

I have come to realize that I was not the only one that became stressed at the quarter coming to a close and decided that a list of ways to relax will definitely be beneficial to the student body.

  • First off, who doesn’t love a good jam session to their favorite music? Time to plug in those headphones turn up your music and temporarily shut the world.
  • If you’re into it, start a new book. Curl up with a fuzzy blanket and get lost in someone’s world.
  • Although it may not be for everyone, take a nap. Just a short twenty minute nap is all that is needed.
  • Do the thing that makes you happy. Some hobby or pastime that makes you smile.
  • Get moving. Go outside, enjoy the fall weather. Take a hike up one of the many canyons that are available in the Salt Lake Valley. If you don’t like a hike, why not a drive? Take a camera and take pictures of the shift in the weather.
  • Make cookies. How could you go wrong with that? And if you don’t like cookies, warm fudge brownies are always a great alternative.
  • Spend some time just talking and laughing with a close friend or possibly a close relative. Take your mind off of your current stresses.
  • Youtube may also be your best friend, take part in the million of adorable animal videos that would make you smile no matter how hard you try not to.
  • Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, etc., might be a good way to distract yourself and have a little fun. Pin them pins and take selfies.
  • Take a trip to a different town; a stay vacation you can call it. You can go be a tourist within your own town and learn something that you never knew.
  • A bubble bath is a great way to relax and chill. Maybe some dramatic candles.

There are many different ways to relax and it all depends on what you enjoy doing and what you can find that relaxes you. This list can get you started on the journey to find what will counter the built up stress that has become a part of your day to day life as a high school student.
