Welcome to the Oasis: Herriman Drill Shines at Regionals, Advances to State
This past Friday, January 25, Herriman Drill competed at the regional competition, hosted at our very own Herriman High. In attendance to represent 6A Region III included Copper Hills, Riverton, Taylorsville, West Jordan and of course of very own Herriman Mestenas.
Categories scored amongst the judges included: military, dance, and kick choreography pieces. Herriman really brought their all, posting after via Instagram that, “This team is a dream. So talented, passionate, loving, and fun! Lots of hard work, sacrifice, sweat, tears, and continual determination.” Herriman received second place, scoring behind region champion, Copper Hills, who placed first in all categories advancing on to the State Semi-Finals, Tuesday, January 29th at Utah Valley University starting at 4 pm. Riverton also will represent Region III with the aforementioned.
Student tickets can be purchased for $5 at the door inside the UCCU center in Orem.
The Herriman Cheerleaders also competed this weekend at their state cheer competition. On Saturday, January 26th, the team took state, placing first, in the 6a division and will be moving onto nationals.
