Breakthrough technologies

Life in 2014 isn’t like how it was always thought it was going to be. No one really can predict the future, but we can change the future. The newest technologies of 2014 will hopefully bring mass production and change of how we view the world today and further on. These are the top ten from new breakthrough technologies of 2014.

10: Agriculture Drones

Although these UFO type looking devices flying through the sky, they help immensely with farmers on their land and the crops they grow.

9: Ultra Private Smartphones

With new phones generating what seems like every month now-a-days, technology just seems to be improving. Not only would phones today have digitally perfect 7” screens and smart fingerprint scanners, but what if your phone could only be seen by you and ONLY you?

This means that you will have 100 percent complete privacy from the government monitoring your every phone call, text, picture taken, social media, etc. There are questions in regard to the ethical nature of this creation. So no promises as of yet, but it is in the works all the way over in Ukraine.

8: Brain Mapping

A new map shows greater detail of the brain more than ever before. Neuroscientists have made remarkable process with brain activity and mapping. It shows a complete new field of detailed brainwave patterns and the anatomy.

7: Neuromorphic Chips

How would it be if a robot, yes a robot, were to have actions and human-like qualities from a brain to a chip? A small dog-sized robot named Pioneer is performing tasks that other prototype robots would need to be specially programmed and use massive amounts of electricity to work completely.

Pioneer is powered by what would be a smartphone chip, and is being simulated in the same ways how a brain works. What if the next biggest thing of technology is simply sitting in your pocket?

6: Genome Editing

With the new technology, scientists are able to edit a monkey’s DNA and create genetic specific mutations. In other words, it gives them the ability to edit their genes, as in we could cure birth defects even at the oldest of age.

5: Microscale 3D Printing

To print in 3D seems so surreal it’s almost impossible. Key word; almost. These super techy machines could be able to print plastic type toys, to body parts. Prosthetics and organs alike. And pizza, you can print pizza!

4: Mobile Collaboration

If we could access Word Documents via our cell phones it would be such a life saver. How would it be to do your office/school work directly from your phone? You wouldn’t have to touch a keyboard again!

3: Oculus Rift

30 years of virtualized-reality goggles has made their debut and the technology finally seems futuristic. These cool goggles transport you to a different world by putting on a screen on your face! It is the next step of simulations and training in the medical field. Even NASA has some training with the Rift as well.

2: Agile Robots

This type of robot would be known as a prosthetic more than an individual. These mechanical prosthetics will help people have the hope to walk again.

1: Smart Wind and Solar Power

Wind and solar power is booming. It is known to be the number one electricity producer in U.S. Not only is it free and we have unlimited amounts practically given to us daily. Large turbines and giant panels store energy and send them out like a massive plant sending off oxygen. Soon enough all of the United States will be run off of wind and solar power.
