UMass hands BYU their 9th loss

The Cougars continue their downhill journey of inconsistency, losing to the 3-7 Massachusetts Minutemen. The game hands BYU their 9th loss of the season. UMass controlled the first three quarters, outscoring BYU 16 to 0.

BYU Quarterback Critchlow was picked off four times by UMass Defensive Coordinator Ed Pinkham’s defense. The Minutemen sought relief from their inability to score touchdowns in the red zone through Logan Laurent, who put 3 of 4 field goals through the uprights on Saturday.

BYU Offensive Coordinator Ty Detmer could not get the offense going until late in the game, where they managed a field goal and a touchdown, but ultimately came up short, ending the game UMass 16, BYU 10.
