Mark Rausch Wrestles His Way to the Top

On Wednesday, February 13th, Herriman High School sophomore, Mark Rausch, became a champion.

Rausch, weighing in at 152 pounds, earned the title of the Utah State Wrestling Champ in the 152lb 6A Class.

The Herriman Mustangs ended up taking third, with 177 points while Layton High took first and Syracuse High in second.

In an interview with Deseret News, Rausch said that wrestling is “..all about hard work.” This motto is most likely what helped earn him the State Champion title. Deseret News stated that  Mark ended the day with a 1-0 win over a Layton High junior, Canyon Brann.

According to UtahWrestling.org, Herriman High School’s wrestling team ranks number five, out of ten other schools in the 6A region.
