Students learn to dance like Latinos

Latinos in Action held an after school event to teach students to dance Latino style. Spanish students were encouraged to attend, because it counted for points toward the foreign language enhanced diploma. Other students were often encouraged to go.

“It was really fun. I was kind of surprised [be]cause I don’t like dancing much,” McKall Vigil (‘15) said.

The dances included the Bachata and the Merengue. Students danced in pairs while Spanish teachers and members of the Latinos in Action club walked around offering advice to the dance.

“It was a little bit hard to catch on at first, but after I learned the steps, me divertí mucho!*” Sarah Hale (‘15) said.

* I had a lot of fun!
