Pros and Cons of Christmas Music

Cons of Christmas music

  • Christmas music is far too cheeky for a Monday
  • How many times is the same thing repeated? All that’s in “jingle bells” is exactly that, just jingle bells. Almost as bad as Justin Biebers song “Baby”.
  • No matter how much you hate them, they find a way into your head, and the worst part is they don’t go away for weeks, or even months.
  • Once the dreadful playlists have been played, that’s all you hear for months.
  • All “new” Christmas music isn’t new, its just covers of the same old songs that have been around for ages.

Pros of Christmas music

  • Holiday music sounds like happiness and snow and pumpkin pie and family time.
  • Honestly. Think of a time that you heard holiday music. It was most likely the best time of your life.
  • Holiday music can also get you in the spirit for the holiday time. Decorating your house, watching holiday movies, and drinking hot chocolate while watching the snowfall is the best feeling.
  • Add that feeling with the holly jolly mood of holiday music and you’re sure to get “the most wonderful time of the year” mentality.
  • Holiday music has many different options. The good thing about these songs is that they can sound like your everyday pop R&B or even country music, and still have the holiday feel! If you’re not so into the traditional Bing Crosby or Nat King Cole, you can try listening to Mary J. Blige or even Justin Bieber (if you’re into that!).
  • Every year brings us new seasonal records that are more exciting than the last. This year has many new holiday releases.
  • Amazon is coming out with its first original content: A Christmas Compilation. This will include some of the best holiday classics and two and a half hours of holiday tunes.
  • Holiday music always keeps growing. This is because people love it so much. If most people disliked the music we would not be getting new albums every year.
  • According to Parents at Teachers National Center “ sounds of the season can promote learning, physical fitness and family bonding.” All the more reason to turn up the radio and engage in cheesy dance moves in spirit of the cheery tunes.
